Tanya Houghton is a landscape and earth driven photographer based in London, UK. Tanya works on a wide range of projects; editorial, commercial, research, exhibition, workshops and curatorial, she holds a position as a lecturer at Goldsmiths University. As a trained sociologist she incorporates photography, video, sound and interviews methods into her practice, enabling her to work with an array of different communities and on different projects around the world. Her work has seen recognition from various awarding bodies such as the British Journal of Photography and the D&AD.
Tanya’s focus is on the remote wild spaces around the world, drawn to these places she is curious about the people who live in, experience and protect these lands. It is her curiosity and sense of adventure that motivates her to seek out these stories. Recording the connections that are made in these landscapes, she hopes to instil a sense of rewilding, inspiring others to move, go outside and explore.
